UC San Diego and La Jolla

Yesterday was a very busy but fun and beautiful day.  I am a State Ambassador for 4-H and we were meeting at UC San Diego, which is the location for a conference we are planning in August.  OMG, That campus is so effing beautiful.  I fell in love with it right away.  Now I know where I want to go to college after Crafton Hills.  WOW.  I love it sooooo much.  After the meeting We drove around La Jolla, which is north of San Diego.  It was beautiful with all the cliffs and the beaches below.  After I said good bye to my friends at the airport my dad and I drove up the coast duing the sunset and that was a sign.  We stoped in San Clemente to eat at this pizza place called Sonny's.  Every time we are down there we eat there.  There pizza is one of the best I have ever had.  It was great.  After that we drove home and got home arounf 11:00.  Today once again I am back here at home sitting infront of the computer and later doing homework.  Not that much fun.

Tadpole Rescue

         This morning, Jane and I went up to Oak Glen Preserve to hike the loop.  It was a perfect spring day.  I wish everyday (or most) were as nice as this.  Throw in with a few rainy days and life would be perfect.  While on the preserve, I shared with Jane that Naturalists and Rangers have implemented my idea to relocate Pacific Tree Frog and Western Toad tadpoles from the preserve's Duck Pond spillway.  On Friday, during my lunch break, I observed the water level had dropped an inch or so, but it seemed there was still plenty of time to get more tadpoles relocated.  As Jane and I visited the spillway, we were shocked to see that most of the water was gone.  All remaining tadpoles where is very small shallow areas or were beached on piles of wet sediment that would most likely become dry the next day.  I wanted to save them all.  Jane and I decided to finish hiking the loop, then return with equipment to reloc...

Plan Formulation and Execution

     Since high school, my weight has been a struggle in my life, and in the past few years there have been attempts to begin losing.  Most had failed.  One major change that has been proven a major success occurred in January 2010, when I gave up drinking sodas and other drinks filled with Sugar while on a flight home from a trip to Lake Tahoe for 4-H.  At the time I quite drinking sodas, I weighted 265 pounds.  After giving up sodas, I knew I had to become more active.  In October 2010, I began walking 2.4 miles three times a week.  By time January 2011 came around, I was walking 3.0 miles almost every day of the week (excluding weekends).  Around April 2011, I had lost track and stopped walking.  In June, I began walking again three times a week, but kept losing track and not walking.  In August 2011, I went camping with two best friends in the Eastern Sierras.  In a 4 day period, we had hiked about 10-12 mile...
