A Dream of the High Seas

I had a very interesting dream last night, and I am not quite sure why I had that dream.  It is rare for me to have a dream that felt real and I remembered.  This is why I decided to write about it. This is what I remember.      I was walking towards a ship, wearing basic clothing.  The ship seemed more like a boat.  I would have to describe the size about the same size as a crab fisherman's boat from the tv show the deadliest catch, except the boat was built with military materials like that grey medal.  There didn't seem to be much of an inside of the boat.  Just a big middle room, with bathrooms in the middle of it, and barracks on each side. From the inside, it looked like a normal type boat, not your military type of boat.  You had a lower deck under the main room, which was mainly for storage, where the weapons and supplies were.  On the upper deck (outside), was the wheel house/captains quarters.   When I got on board the ship, the captain pulled me aside to talk

In the Hunt for a Job

Ever since I had been let go from my first job at the end of September, I have been in a need for another job. My money levels are very low. I can't give you how much money I have because I haven't checked my bank a count in awhile. My credit card has been getting close to its limits, and I keep having to spend money for things like gas to drive to and back from school. One good thing is that my parents are helping me out with paying my credit card and food. It has been hard to ask the parents for help, since I had been able to afford stuff since I had gotten my job in fall of 06. I have been slowly looking around online for jobs, but to find a job I would like seems to be way harder than I have thought. There are two major things I worry about with a new job. The first major issue is having a job with flexable hours. With school, my class schedule changes every three months. I will need a job that would respect the fact I am in college full time, and will

Back together

So Sarah and I have gotten together. When we broke up, we had a few issues. We ended up not expressing our feelings, so when we had our official first fight, instead of trying to talk and fix things; we just took the easy way out. Do the blame game and call us over. After awhile I kept thinking that was the wrong way to break up. We are now better, for we talked about things and we are giving us a second chance.

Weekly Changes: Week 1-Sleep Naked

Not sure what it is, but I woke up this morning feeling great and refreshed.  I have decided that I would have a goal each week to attempted to do something to change things towards a healthier life style.  Will every change work?  Not sure, but im willing to give it a try.  Some times ill attempt a small change that they claim to be good for you, many be some weeks I will attempt to make bigger changes towards the better.  All I know is, I am not as healthy as I could, and I want to attempt at being healthier.  Now your questions may be what change is he trying to do this week.  This week I have a few goals, but one is a new change.      This week, I will attempt to get in the habit of sleeping naked.  I was bored last night, and decided to randomly google to see what the health benefits of sleeping naked would be.  I found one website that had some good information.  According to sleepedia.com, sleeping naked is not only good for your body, but is also very good for your healt

Halloween & Tricia's Birthday

Halloween this year was quit amazing compared to what I had originally had planned.  Halloween fell on a Monday this year.  For school, I have a Expository Writing Class that goes from 6-10 pm.  From looking at the syllabus, it showed we would have class that night.  With class happening, I would have missed Halloween.  I was in class the week before Halloween, and the teacher had decided to cancel class the next week.  At the time, I was super excited, because that would be I would be able to go to Scotty's house for their Haunted House that they do every year.        Halloween had come, which was the day after I had returned from my trip up north, and I was super tired.  I woke up, went to my 9:20 class, came home, and had no interest in going anything that night.  Jane had text messaged me, asking me about what I was going to wear, and I personally didn't have anything to wear.  Because I don't have a job, money is very slim.  All I had was that black cape I tend

Sarah and I Have Broke Up

I had broken up with Sarah today, about 40 minutes ago.  Things just weren't working out.  For the past month, I have been asking myself 5 things that we have in common, and I really couldn't find a single answer other than our past with being in the 4-H program.  We had gotten close, and had some kind of feelings a long time ago, back in 2004 during our trip to Washington Focus.  When the opportunity came around in the beginning of this year, we attempted to re spark that flame.  Things went well our first couple of months in the relationship, but me personally starting questioning the relationship in August, when my friend Emily asked me what I see in Sarah, and sadly I couldn't come up with a true answer.  We will still remain good friends.  Things just weren't meant to be.  We have way different interests, lifestyles, and dreams.  Our relationship lasted for 8 months.  To date, this has been the longest relationship, and the most deepest one I have had.  I don&

Oct. Tech Team Meeting & Day Trip to Lake Tahoe

Image
This weekend I had traveled up to Sacramento, as I have since 2005 for a tech team meeting. I had spent night with Sarah and we both spent the day in the Lake Tahoe Basin. This is the blog of this weekend. I had to wake up earl y this Saturday. 5:00 am. It took me a good 20 mins to get the courage to get out of bed. I was awake the night before till midnight watching adult swim and packing. I got dressed, went downstairs, and went right to my Starbucks double shot. With time, I slowly woke up. I started looking around for food to eat, but nothing seemed too exciting to eat. I would have to cook something, which I didn't have time for. I left the house an hour and fifthteen minute before my flight, which made me nervous because I always like to be at the airport an hour before my flight takes off (when I dont have luggage to check in). I got to Ontario Airport in about 30 mins, and I had power walked over to the temminal. It was dark during this time, and I was

The Decline of Southern Resident Killer Whales

Below is a report paper I had to write for my upper division writing class for school.  The topic of the report is on the issues that are being linked to the Southern Resident Killer Whales, which live in the Pacific Northwest and British Columbia, Canada.  Since this has research in the paper, I have included the sources.  Photo was taken by me, Haro Straight, off shore of San Juan Island, Washington, July, 2010.  An Orca which is a member of L Pod. The Decline of Southern Resident Killer Whales John Trammell California State University, San Bernardino Introduction      Killer Whales, or Orcas, are the most widely distributed cetacean species in the world and likely represent the most widely distributed mammal species in the world (NOAA A, 2011). They are found in all of the world's oceans. Their range is limited only by natural barriers such as the polar ice packs. The largest population of Orcas are found on the eastern and western edges of the North Pac

Slowly Changing For The Better

Since I was in middle school, I had slowly gained weight.  Two things have been to blame for the reasons why I have gained weight.  The first, moving across town in March, 1999.  I had lost the friends I used to hang out with every single day, outside.  The internet wasn't big back then where we could keep in contact with our friends.  When I moved to where I am today, I had issues trying to fit into the kids in the new neighborhood.  As results, I ended up staying inside everyday, and resorting to Computers and Video Games for entertainment.  Along side with that, came bad eating habits, which is the second reasons I have gained weight. I start to think about how those bad habits came around, and have come to the conclusion that I just wasn't educated in proper eating habits.  The school system and my parents should have taken the time to get me on the right track.  By time high school came around, bad habits were in place.  Things have been tough, especially at school in

And there were three who believed

Below is an paper assignment I had to write for my expository writing class.  We had to write about an reflection on our education in our lives, and what struggles we had or who had made a different in our lives to help us get to where we were currently.  There was only a 5 page limit, so I was only able to write about three of many people who had made a difference and changed my life forever.  Some of this I haven't shared with really anyone other than a handful of people.        Reflecting on an Educational Journey John Trammell California State University, San Bernardino      The educational road in my life has been a long and curvy one, filled with different challenges throughout my journey. A major challenge on my educational journey has been my attempt at discovering how I wanted to travel down this road, and what my career choice would be to steer me down my educational road. As I reflect on the progression made on my journey, I find that I need to define wh

Labor Day Weekend 2011: Southern Oregon & Northern California

Image
For Labor Day this year, I had traveled with my girl friend, Sarah, and her mom up to Klamath Falls, Oregon, to visit her Uncle, have a side trip to visit Crater Lake National Park, then visit her grandpa and his wife in Fall River Mills, east of Mt. Shasta. The blog about the trip is below. Enjoy. Why is the text in purple? Because dark purple is like my second favorite color, so shush! Thursday Sept. 1, 2011 I spent the day slowly packing my duffel bag, and preparing my camera equipment for the trip. Of course, procrastination occurred, which is normal for me especially when it comes to packing for trips. I had left for Ontario Airport at 4:30 pm. I had my dad drive me, for I didn't want to leave my car parked at the airport for 6 days. We stopped over to pick up my grandma, for they were going to eat dinner after they drop me off, and we headed out to Ontario. I got to the airport, said good bye and went through the usual routine of checking in the
