The Overlook (A Love Story)

Last night Sarah and I were texting each other as usual, and we were both bored.  I had an idea to do a continuous story through texting.  We ended up writing a love story.  It took two hours to write the story.  What Sarah wrote is in purple; what I wrote will be in blue.

The Overlook

Once upon a time
In a land not to far away...
There was a boy and a girl
Who lived next door to each other
but their families were enemies
so they could only see each other through their bedroom windows
They would often stay up to the latest hours of the night having the most wonderful conversations about the future.
One day they decided to make plans to meet.
But they were always afraid of getting caught
Luck struck one day, when both families were gone for one full day
but both were afraid the other was gone
So nothing happened that day...Another chance will present itself a few months later
one day after he got done with basketball practice and her tennis he asked for a ride home
On the ride home, the boy was scared to make a drastic move, for he was smelly and gross from practice, so he reached for her hand.
she saw what he was doing and totally dissed him and moved her hand and giggled at him
Her parents saw the move, knew the boy would be a problem, so they made plans to move away.
but after another few months go by without any interaction between the two except the long talks they have at night so her parents decided against the move.
The boy was walking home from school, and as he walked past a park, he noticed the girl next door sitting on a swing
He noticed she was crying and went over to comfort her.
As he walked over to her, he picked a few dandelions for her, he handed them to her.
When she looked up at him he couldn't help but notice how beautiful she was.
He sat down on the swing next to her, and moved closer to give her a hug.
but the swing wouldn’t go that far so he took her by the hand and let her back to his car and took her to the over look and they just sat on the hood of his car. And they talked for hours just like they used to.
They didn’t want this moment to end, for it seemed perfect.  They drove back to his house, and he walked her to her front door
They decided to lay low for a few days as they knew heir parents wouldn't approve.
They decided to go on a date a week later.
it was perfect...he had planned everything out perfectly...they both had called other friends to cover for them...she wore her favorite dress and he his sunday best
He picked her up, and they first went to a movie.
One they both had been wanting to see since the previews came out...they had a great time and held hands and laughed along with the movie the perfect way to start the night
When the movie was over, they both headed to a nice dinner at a local italian resturant
After dinner they went back out to the lookout to the same spot he took her before.
He put some music on, and grabbed a blanket for both to cuttle under to keep warm
And they sat on the hood of the car and watched the stars for hours.
They spotted a shooting star that flashed across the sky, and asked her to make a wish.
She closed her eyes for a minute and took a deep breath...
As she took her breath, he took his hand, ran it through her hair, and said that his wish was to be with the most beautiful girl he knows for the rest of his life.
And then she opened her eyes and looked in his eyes and kissed him so passionately...
It felt as if the world had paused, and that this kiss lasted forever.
And from then on they never let their parents get between their relationship.
They stayed at the lookout all night, and watched the sun rise.  Afterwards, they finally headed back home.
Her parents demanded to know where she was all night...she told them and they threatened to ground her so she began to live with her aunt and uncle whom loved the boy and understood the complications they had to deal with.
The boy and girl would continue to see each other, and made one day a week a special day.
Where they would spend the evening at the overlook...a few months had passed and every week they would still go to the outlook...but this night was different than the rest.
He first surprised her with a homemade meal, of their favorite dish.
But thats not all he had up his sleeve that night...What she didn’t know about him yet was he was an avid bug watcher...so from behind his seat he pulled out a bottle of hair spray and spelt out two words...MARRY ME? and as the bugs were attracted to the spray he got to his knees and pulled out the most beautiful ring she had ever seen.
Her heart skipped a few beats as she saw the ring.  Her eyes began to water with joy.  She was speechless for a few moments, but finally said YES!  He took the ring, placed it on her finger, and they kissed, which just happened to be the same spot they shared there first.
they got married that next spring and both sets of parents had come to terms with their relationship and were happy for the two of them despite their differences
They lived a happy and long life...having a family with three kids, which they loved very much.
And every once in a while they would manage to get away to that overlook in the very same spot as their first date.
the end
