Farewell Amanda

For those who don't know, my cousin on my mom's side of the family, Amanda Clark, is leaving for basic training in a few days (AKA Boot Camp).  A few months ago, she announced that she has enlisted in the National Guard, and that she will be training to be a drone plane pilot.  She first heads to Boot Camp at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri.  Once she has graduated from Boot Camp, she heads right off to Ft. Huachuca in a small town of Sierra Vista, Arizona,  which is 20 miles from the Mexican Boarder.  She will be their for schooling till September, where hopefully she will be stationed in Portland, Oregon, which is where she has been living.

For the past month and a week, she has been living down here at the farm, and we have done alot of cool things, from going to Sea World to the San Diego Wild Animal Park.  Things have been great.  The hardest thing will be not having her at our camping trip at Yosemite this year.

I will be going with Amanda, my aunt, and uncle, down to San Diego on Monday, and have mexican food for dinner, and say our farewells, and give her our last good lucks and that we are proud of her.

I am very proud of Amanda for enlisting, and I know that she will kick some ass, and be the best that she can be.  It takes guts to enlist, and have to deal with the reaction of the family, and I highly respect Amanda and her decisions.  I wish you good lucky Amanda!!! We will miss you while you are gone, but we are very proud of you, and you are awesome for stepping up, and wanting to serve our county, to protect the freedom so many brave souls have lost their lifes for, and to protect the US citizens at a time of natural disaster or needs.  Once again, good luck, and Kick some ass!!!!
