     On March 7th, I traveled with a few 4-H Technology Leadership Team members to Redwood City in the bay area.  We have been given the chance to visit the DreamWorks Animation Studies facilities of Redwood City.  An adult volunteer on the team happened to know a past high school friend who worked there, and gave us this change.  She was going to take the interested members, but a month before the trip, she got a job offer in Denver.  I took her place in being the adult in charge of getting the team members there.  I was excited.        The day started off with a team member, Amanda, and I flying up to San Jose.  Once we got to San Jose, two other team members from Santa Cruz were going to meet up with us at the airport to catch a ride with me.  First, I had to get the rental car.  This would become the stressful time of the trip.  I used Enterprise.  It seems that they did not accept debit cards at ...

     On the morning of July 24th, I left San Francisco (see last blog post) and drove out to the University of California, Davis, outside of Sacramento, for the 2013 California 4-H State Leadership Conference (July 25-28, 2013).  California 4-H was celebrating the 100 years of the state program, and was the main theme behind the conference.  I was at the conference as a member of the California 4-H Technology Leadership Team (TLT).  I worked on a few different projects, taught an educational session, and was in charge of all logistics towards the tech team at the conference (my leadership position is the Team Logistics Leader).  It was a great conference, and I am going to share the major highlights of the event.      The tech team met on campus the day before the conference, on the 24th, to have a face to face meeting.  The major purpose of the face to face meeting was to travel to Folsom to have a tour of the innovation...

     This Memorial Day Weekend was the same as it has been the past few years.  I would travel up to UC Davis for the 2013 State 4-H Field Day to put on the 2013 California 4-H Photography Competition on Saturday.  We then had a fun day on Sunday exploring a small area of the Gold country.      Normally, we (my dad, sister, and I) leave early on Friday morning.  That was the original  plan, but my sister had a few exams that day for school.  Because of that, I did not ditch my classes, and went to class.  We had left in the afternoon, at around 2:00 pm.  With being so late, I was afraid of running into the crazy holiday weekend traffic.  For the most part, we did not run into any traffic except for portions of the Grapevine.  The drive was standard.  Took us 8 hours.  Only thing that got on my nerves was my dad.  He kept bringing up that my car is old and it is at its end and it most likely will ...

     This past weekend, I had traveled up to the Nevada 4-H State Camp in Stateline, NV, (next door to South Lake Tahoe) for the 2012 CA 4-H Technology Leadership Team (TLT) and State Ambassador (SA) Winter Retreat.  At this retreat, both teams come together to network on the planning of the State Leadership Conference and the 4-H program, strengthen our leadership/teamwork/speaking skills, and to have separate team meetings to work on business.  If you recall to past blog posts of this event, it has been held the first weekend of January.  Due to people's availability, we had moved the event to the end of February.  Below is my experiences from this wonderful and refreshing weekend up in the Sierras. *Photo below of both teams at retreat* Friday, February 24, 2012      The trip starts like most other 4-H trips up north.  Wake up before the sunrise, get ready, get loaded in the car, and head to the Ontario Airport...
